Weeknd Fortnite Dance Emote Leaked! |
Epic has been pretty tough on the new licensed emotes they introduced to the game. They started with Rick Astley and multiplied with increasingly popular acts. More recently we have had things with BTS, Ayo & Teo and others. We're getting into the Most A-List Stars right now, because on the 2:30 pm patch it looks like The Weeknd is joining this group of artists with an in-game dance and song.
The Weeknd's recent album After Hours brought the song Blinding Lights, which was immortalized as a Fortnite emote! There doesn't seem to be any vocals during the dance, and just the rhythm of the song, but it's quite impressive to see one of their songs in-game nonetheless.
The dance itself is pretty simplistic, but it fits the October Halloween vibe that's happening right now. It's mostly a footwork with a little extra movement towards the end, but I guess most players will buy it for the song itself.
Epic continues to be able to incorporate recognized musical acts into the game in the form of live concerts and emotes. It will be interesting to see who they collaborate with next, and if other partnerships with The Weeknd await us. I also can't wait to see if they have another in-game event that would soon be similar to Travis Scott. It was a great way to introduce an artist, while also incorporating some tradition and adding some great cosmetics!
If you haven't heard much about The Weeknd, you can check out the full emote song and video:
